Живо Тесто (Live Dough)
A site-specific, documentary performance in a local bakery shop.
In a city, somewhere on a regular street, stands a banitsa shop, often open 24/7. Whether after a grueling exam or a long workday, at high noon or in the dead of night, there is always someone inside. Few places in the city bring together such fundamentally different people under one roof. But what exactly happens there? What can these spaces, and the people connected to them, teach us about the society we live in today?
Живо Тесто (Live Dough) is a durational, site-specific, documentary performance that invites audiences to rediscover a traditional Sofia banitsa shop. Wearing headphones, visitors listen to real-life audio interviews with bakery workers, poetry, historical facts, and immersive soundscapes while the cast inhabits the space performing mundane tasks and metaphorical movement.
